Dakine was founded on designing a better surf leash. The Kaimana surf leash builds on Dakine's surf leash legacy with increased durability, comfort and performance. Designed for surfing peaks up to a couple feet overhead, it uses 1/4-inch (6.5mm) Dura-Cord that's refined for reduced drag without compromising on strength. The low-profile ankle cuff conforms to the shape of your ankle for a zero-distraction fit.

Good leash, though only for one board

The leash is very comfortable, although the leash saver cover makes it so that it's harder to take off and on different boards. I use 1 leash for several boards, so this isn't ideal. It also has design divots in the cord. During a wipeout, the cord can wrap around your leg and then when the cord is pulled, the divot dont feel good at all. I'd actually rather a smooth cord. Im still giving this 4 stars, because the function of the leash and the strengh of the cuff make this a good buy, if you're aware of the other factors. Also.. this was a warranty replacement. Rather than giving you a straight replacement for the product, they give you a credit, but each year jack their prices up. So you end up paying a small amount... I'm not a fan of how Dakine does this.

Great leash!

I’ve used this leash 5-6 times so far from smaller grovel to head high. It does great staying in place and feels great. Only reason it gets four stars is if you use it for a long time and keep letting your board go it’ll dig your ankle a little bit. But motivation to make you get better!

What a great leash. Velcro seems like better quality than normal leash. The leash seems to be very secure. Slices through the water with a low profile cuff, strap and cord design.

Red Kaimana Team Leash

The leash seems true to its description and does not tangle which feels especially important when you're going for a late takeoff and quickly turn your board from a sitting position. Also, after bailing on a big overhead that really stretched the leash, it still seems strong. I can't tell if it was permanently stretched or not, but seems fine. Ankle strap is also very comfortable.
